This event resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
