The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Chose the Wrong Popular RPG Show Song

This latest animated series, the newest animated adventure by the beloved role-playing group, revealed an exciting opening credits. It features the beloved group of outcasts, outcasts, and rogues fighting hard and making their mark, while teasing at several heart-wrenching backstories for characters such as Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and another actor's orc warlock, the character Fjord.

All in all, the intro looks amazing. However, I felt that something was lost in the music selection.

This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar song composed by producer and singer the talented musician. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of that title, the second one released by the production company's record label their music brand. It's a great sentimental option, and I believe that fans of the second campaign will love its inclusion.

Personally, The Mighty Nein's intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and energy that was part of the second campaign's actual-play adventure. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by musician Jason Charles Miller, was an instant classic in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it improved further when co-founder the performer wrote words to the melody for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year.

Featuring vocals from one actress, Laura Bailey, a co-star, as well as Riegel himself, the track was memorable and enjoyable. At the time, I hadn't even watched the follow-up series at that point, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an episode of adventurous fun.

The show's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" doesn't strike the same chords for me. It's a grand composition, but from what I know of this party, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Of course, Critical Role has stated that the series will have some changes and differences from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its intro seems to be among these.

This animated adventure will be released on the streaming service from November 19. If you can't wait until then, or want a head start to get to know the personas of the second series, the actual play are available on Spotify and the video site.
