Julia Wandelt, 24, who witnesses stated has repeatedly declared she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are on trial charged with harassing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.

On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and data retrieved from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout 2023 and 2024.

One voicemail, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt declaring: "I realize I'm heavy and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I know what I believe."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's recording said: "Suppose there is a slight possibility that I'm her? What then? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I just want to know," she added.

The panel was informed that by means of electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, transmitted youth pictures to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "flashbacks" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with the police force who collated the evidence, told the court there "didn't appear to be any responses" from Mrs McCann.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I won't give up and I will prove my point."

The court learned Mrs Spragg developed a relationship via internet with Ms Wandelt before accompanying her on a visit to the McCanns' home in that area in that winter.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to express the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be treated respectfully in the period preceding the appearance to that location, the county, in December 2024.

The court was told communications between the two accused, in that autumn, considering endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from cutlery at a dining venue.

"We need to make a stand," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.
