A Marquee Signing for the WSL Side The forward, with half a year left on her deal, has been a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for Germany. Her arrival is viewed as a major signing for the WSL side. Her exit from Bayern was expected since she appeared to be fighting back tears while thanking the club's supporters following a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently. It was reported in late December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its leading strikers. According to reports, the formalities for the move are now finalised. Consistent Goalscoring to Boost United's Forward Line The 28-year-old’s arrival is expected to provide a major uplift to United’s attacking options. She has been remarkably consistent in front of goal in the Bundesliga. Over seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals. She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with 16 goals. Gathering Momentum at Old Trafford Securing Schüller’s signature comes at a time when United appear to be gathering positive momentum. Their recent performances include securing a place in the European knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a victory in the Conti Cup quarter-finals. Off the pitch, the mid-season window has seen additional activity: The acquisition of Swedish right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a three-and-a-half-year deal. The new deal for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since joining in 2023. On Miyazawa’s new deal, a senior figure commented: “Miyazawa is now a vital component to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and skill allows her and the team to dominate play from central areas.” Lundkvist, who has joined from a club in the NWSL, added: “You can feel how much the club have progressed in the last few years, playing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and now featuring in the top European competition.”
