‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt ready to share openly about his profound loss.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can at last articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started passing more hours together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, remarking that he could not remember "any day without joy".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator

In a separate tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

In a new development, a Los Angeles judge decided to prevent the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate issued a security hold on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" connected to the active case.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a record noting the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Response and Criticism

Following the tragedy, public individuals shared varying comments.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering provocative claims that were broadly criticized by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the critics recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan described the remarks as "disappointing" and remarked they demonstrated a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an adviser should have acted when the choice to comment on the passing was made.
