Raducanu advanced to round three in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams in the current campaign. The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her remaining competitions of the year due to a health issue that has affected her over the past 10 days. The 22-year-old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover prior to beginning next year's training. Those preparations will include her coach Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating again next season. Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day. She needed once more medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round. Her movement was far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025. Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats. The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month. The player achieved twenty-eight matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open. Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way then falling in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth. Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open. The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year. She mentioned that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret. She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August. Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
