Barça to Host Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
